"I'm just a Kentucky farm girl livin' in an alternate universe with dragons...and I'm bonded to one. Nothing wrong there, right?"
Pb: Jennifer Lawrence
Description:
The easiest way to describe Miniri is to say she's not your average pernese girl. With light blonde hair that tumbles around her shoulders in loose waves, and a fair complexion that tans only slightly, she isn't the dark and exotic type Pern has become accustomed to. Sure there have been blondes before, but it's not just the coloring that makes Miniri different. There's the way she holds herself, entirely relaxed and carefree too. The girl isnt used to any worries or cares. The last memories she had before arriving on Pern were filled with romps on the Kentucky blue grass and open skies.
Because of this, the sixteen turn old hasnt really gained much in terms of a more mature and serious look to her appearance. Even though she could dress up to look older, somehow she just seems young to those that see her. Most say it's in her eyes; a cloudy hazel blue color that change from grey blue to sky blue constantly depending on her mood. They usually have some sort of miscevious twinkle though as harpers would describe. Her lips, a pale pink, also portray this carelessness in an easy smile that seldom depicts a person that is plotting or trying too hard to seem happy.
Basically, with Miniri what you see is what you get. She's never one to wear extremely fancy clothing, a simple pair of pants and a tops will do it. Her hair often is put in a pony-tail despite its look when down too. Miniri takes pride in being clean, but she isn't vain. Most of her time is devoted to Midnath or Epona anyway so how could she even think about taking a moment for herself?
Description:
One thing that is certain about Miniri, is that she never is one to turn a darker path. Sure everyone has the capability to mean, but Niri just rather be good. She loves to help people, and she prides herself on being a "champion" of others. This is especially in the case of young children. The weyrling loves kids and often can be seen babysitting or playing games with them. As soon as Midnath grew old enough, she even started persuading the green to give play-rides as well. That's the most constant part of Miniri. She will never harm a child, she will never let one down.
The girl is pretty even tempered too. Not much will get her angry enough to yell, but when she does get truly mad, you'll know. The rest of the time, she takes the world in small steps and a bright smile. There's always an optimistic side to be seen, and she always tries to see the good in people as well. Miniri is known to try and find the hardest view point, and will stop at nothing to understand every angle of a situation. She's fair that way, and this is yet another thing that tends to stand out in Miniri.
Besides these things, Miniri does have a playful side. She enjoys a good adventure or joke, and she can generally be found in social settings. Unless it's in front of children though, she tends to stay in the more shadowy parts of the group, not liking the spotlight. This is especially while singing. Though the weyrling has a decent enough voice, and can even dance a few commonly known steps, she feels like it's too personal to share. The only ones she ever sings to is Epona and Midnath, and occasionally a child if they are sick or feeling upset.
Written History:
Miniri didn't start out as Miniri, or as a pernese girl. She was born in a small town in Kentucky, America; the name though, like most of her past memories are gone. Her name though is something that stayed with her, and that was Maya Nearwood. Perhaps and odd name still, but more Earthen than Miniri. She was the only girl in a family or six, the middle child as well. They owned a small horse farm, she grew up carefree under the wide Kentucky sky. Then the fire happened.
The girl gets flash-backs every now and again, but other than that she can't remember exactly what happened. She only knows it blazed in the barn, and the horses were running and screaming. Her family was rushing in and out trying to get them, not all survived. The next thing she knew, she was in Pern. The researchers told her that they had found her in a hospital, when she was recovering. They had promised her a new life, and she took the opportunity. The travel however messed with her already fragile memory, and much of the in between time was lost.
Little by little even that will come back in dreams or senses of Deja-Vu. She was a candidate for only a little while, not having any skills to help the researchers. She stood for the first engineered clutch though, and she spent a good portion marveling at the dragonets. She almost didn't see a green come near her until her voice had entered her mind, Maya was so focused on the hatching of the new Queen.
Oh come on Mine, like she's all that great! The green lashed her tail, and then giggled in Maya's mind. Shaking her head, the girl looked down at the little dragonet and just stared. Dragon got your tongue Mine? You're lookin' kinda funny like that. Her voice was a song in her head, chimed on little bells with a laughing over tone. Maya felt herself move forward and fall onto her hands and knees. Hehehe, well, at least you know your place as my minion. Maya Nearwood, Midnath's rider...that won't work love. I hearby name you Miniri. Now that has a good ring to it!
So, Maya Nearwood became Miniri, and Midnath became her dragon. They grew quickly together, and over time they became an efficient pair. There was one thing though that never did settle well with either of them.
She thinks she soooooo perfect! I'll give a taste of my talons and jaws and then we'll see about perfect.
Tyranith and Hers often irritated the green, and Miniri soon found her own feelings to be swayed. As they near graduation, the green pair looks forward to having their space away from them....but then again, they'll soon be ruled by The Golden Tyrant. Escape, unfortunately, is not an option.
Will: Same with all my other characters, I will give them to someone I trust, NPC them, or kill them off.
"I'm not quite sure what to say about Midnath...sometimes I love her...sometimes though I just wish she'd leave me alone."
Apperance:
At about 36 feet, Midnath definitely isn't the biggest green to ever be hatched. Some say its just how she is, some say it has something to do with being genetically engineered. Midnath could care less, she's a bundle of fun in a tiny package! Her proportions are petite as well, her legs being long but very delicate, and her body being like a runnerbeast bred for racing. It often reminds Miniri of the thoroughbreds her family used to breed. Her wings are large, but not overly so, and are shaped like a falcon's would be. This means they are slim, angled, and made for speed and quick turns.
Her hide is a mixture of shadowy greens and lighter moss green. They weave around her body as if at war with each other, but on most of the darker green, she has lines of a bright neon hue. It shows up in any lighting, even night time. Though it doesn't exactly glow in the dark, the color does give off that impression whenever it hits any sort of light.
Personality:
Midnath is a kid. She loves to play, and usually it has nothing to do with being nice. She's the exact opposite of Miniri in many ways. She's conniving, devious, manipulative...and yet amazingly has a heart. She cares about what she chooses to care about, anything else though is simply seen as a tool. She's the real Queen here, everyone just can't see it because she's chosen to disguise herself as a green! Yep, that's right...Midnath has one bad Napoleon complex. It's at least given Miniri confidence though...as well as a good handful of headaches.
The green loves to argue as well, so don't even try unless you want her annoying you for the rest of your life. Midnath doesn't take too well to loosing either, so watch out for that too. She will get even...she usually doesn't know how, but she will. She's the kind to play mind-games too instead of physically trying to get back at someone. Really, in short, she's a little imp of a dragoness. She loves causing trouble, and she always has her own motives. Naturally, that she would never tell anyone.
"I had to save her, there was no way I'd just leave her there to die."
Apperance:
Small now, Epona is expected to grow to be the size of a Quarter horse. She has long legs and a finely dished head. Her coat is a milky sort of tan/beige, and it darkens at her extremities before switching to a creamy vanilla color. The same off white hue is found on her mane and tail, as well as on her forehead.
Personality:
She's loyal, she's sweet, she's always there when Miniri needs her. Found at a gather where the owner was found to be mistreating his runners, Miniri alerted the Master Beastcrafter who had been visiting, and soon found herself the owner of a runnerbeast foal. Despite Epona having her tendencies to occasionally rebel during training, she normally is level headed.
