1) Flights/Runs: To have a Flight, you need to message an administrator and have it put on the schedule. There are a limited number of on camera non-clutching Flights. Clutching Flights are generally all scheduled or asked to happen as well as a certain number of non-clutching Flights. Flights are run by the player of the dragoness. Se has the right to choose the victor of the Flight. However, if the Flight would result in a character Holding a rank, certain considerations must be made.
A winner may be chosen for several reasons. A flight may be won because an rper writes well, the characters new each other before the Flight, or because the character pairings will produce the best in character interactions post-Flight.
Queen Flights however, because they result in rank will always, always be much more choosy. While the above factors do play a part in the decision, Queen Flights are always favor responsible, involved members.
2) Clutches: You must ask permission for a clutch. You may suggest a number of eggs and what colors they contain. However, the administration will make the final decision. Typically this will be myself, though others who I give authority to may be able to as well. Clutches must fit within the clutch limit for the color. You may develop the dragonets and design them as you wish as long as you remain within certain overall guidelines for color and such.
3) Hatchings: Hatchings are run by the Rper of the ClutchMother. A Candidate should not interfere with a dragonet after it has hatched as this is warrant for being mauled unless there is some particular special circumstance, but even then, your character may be subjected to getting mauled.
All characters stand the chance of being mauled to some extent unless you specify under Dragon Preferences that you would rather they didn't.
4) Impressions: First of all, Please discuss who you give what color to with me or a staff member so that we can make suggestions, which should include several different characters for you to choose from. However, Queen Impressions and some King Impressions will be chosen beforehand by staff in order to ensure that those who have earned the right by their activity and so on are rewarded in time. These decisions will be made as a staff. If a staff member's character is to Impress it as not part of a plot, that staff member will not be informed in order to keep the surprise and make it more fun.
Now, onto other more interesting and fun matters: There are several different types of Impressions a character can have. They can range from being opposites to matches, complementary, covering all of each others weak points, supplementary-covering some of each others weak points, but not all, and growth supporting matches that are meant to grow both dragon and rider over time. Each one has a chance that the pair could be considered unhealthy where they often become frustrated, irritated, hostile, or distant form each other. Healthy pairs should grow and mature with time.
These guidelines come DIRECTLY from my other Weyr, Silence Weyr.
